Lady Gaga said she was devastated for friend and music legend Tony Bennett over his battle with Alzheimers.

Bennett’s wife, Veronica, revealed that he was diagnosed with the disease a few years ago.

“I’m devastated,” said Lady Gaga, 34, as she posed for pictures outside the Met Ball after-party at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

“He’s sick. He’s sick,” she said. “There’s nothing that can make me more sad than that.”

Last year, Bennett, at his 92nd birthday celebrations, told his audience that he had been diagnosed with the condition.

He and Lady Gaga performed jazz classics such as These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ together in 2011, and again in 2014 at the Grammys.

The jazz legend also performed on her 2016 album Joanne and an album to benefit the Sandy Hook school shooting victims.

Last year he performed at the Tony Bennett Celebrates 90 album launch concert, which was billed as “by the world’s best-known jazz artists”.

In a recent interview, Bennett revealed that he had supported Prince on his deathbed after he suffered a heart attack.

“I had to come and get him from his room, because they [his doctors] wouldn’t let him come to the hospital,” he said.

Bennett last year celebrated his 90th birthday with a concert in New York City.
